Grade 3 (Scale Point 3-5) £22,737 - £23,500

Actual Salary: £21,096 - £21,748 (Full Time)

Full Time: 37 hours per week

Term time plus five additional days

To commence as soon as possible

We seek to appoint a passionate, dedicated and highly motivated person to the role of Attendance Assistant. The Attendance Assistant’s role is to support the Attendance Officer to ensure the school accurately tracks and records student attendance, help in producing updates for leaders to ensure that specific and bespoke support is given to those students whose attendance is not yet good. They will work alongside other members of the Inclusion team in close collaboration with parents and students to support them positively to raise their attendance and identify any interventions required to facilitate this. 

The successful candidate will be responsible for: 

  • To support the Attendance Officer in maintaining accurate records of attendance.
  • To deal with routine enquiries pertaining to Pupil Premium student attendance from staff, parents and other agencies where appropriate.
  • Liaising closely with the Education Inclusion Service and any other appropriate services to address student attendance issues.
  • Responsible for providing early intervention with Pupil Premium students who potentially may be developing attendance issues in school; maintaining that intervention and support with those identified as well as those with sustained attendance problems in an attempt to secure an improvement in regular and punctual attendance.
  • Maintaining and developing positive relationships with targeted Pupil Premium students and parents to address attendance issues.
  • Conducting regular home visits, so a full Driving Licence and access to a vehicle is necessary (mileage claims to be submitted).

The following qualifications and experience are essential:

  • GCSE Maths and English (or equivalent) Grade C or above
  • Strong ICT skills and experience using Microsoft Office packages
  • Admin qualification 
  • Experience of working in a busy office environment
  • Experience with working with students, wider families and other agencies 
  • Excellent organisational and interpersonal skills
