Every learner matters. Every barrier can be overcome. Be part of the team that makes it happen.

We are looking to appoint highly motivated, enthusiastic and committed Casual Learning Support Assistants to join our Personalised Learning (SEND) team, working flexibly across Baysgarth School and Castledyke Primary School as part of our Federation.

We believe that every child and young person is capable of achieving their very best, regardless of starting point or additional need. Our Personalised Learning team works tirelessly to ensure that barriers to success are identified, addressed and supported. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals with the right skills and mindset to join our schools at an exciting time.

Our students are amazing. They are intelligent, articulate, funny, welcoming and appreciative of high-quality support. They deserve the very best, and we are committed to providing this in every aspect of their school lives. To achieve this, we need outstanding staff who are dedicated, passionate, dynamic, caring and inspiring. We are proud of our world-class staff team and are seeking to appoint individuals to join one of the strongest teams within it.

Both schools benefit from outstanding facilities, reflecting our commitment to providing the very best conditions for learning for both students and staff.

The role of Learning Support Assistant is key in providing high-quality learning experiences for pupils across both primary and secondary phases.

The successful candidates will be responsible for:

-Supporting individuals or groups of pupils to access all areas of the curriculum

-Working collaboratively with teaching staff to create outstanding learning opportunities

-Delivering targeted 1:1 or small-group interventions

-Communicating pupil progress to a range of stakeholders

-Supervising pupils during breaks, lunchtimes and, where required, extra-curricular activities

Essential Qualifications and Experience

-GCSE Maths and English (or equivalent) Grade C/4 or above

-Experience of working with children or young people with additional needs (primary and/or secondary)

-Understanding of how pupils learn and how additional needs may impact learning

-Ability to use ICT effectively to support learning

-Experience of using differentiation strategies to meet a range of learning needs

The successful candidates will be required to demonstrate flexibility, as work will be offered on a casual, as-required basis and may involve working at either Baysgarth School or Castledyke Primary School, depending on operational need.

Riverview Family of Schools is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. The successful applicant will be required to apply for enhanced disclosure from the DBS.

If you are inspired by the challenge and responsibility of this opportunity, we would like to hear from you. If you would like to discuss any aspect of the post, please feel free to contact Dr Emma Rice-Adams (SENCO) at the school.
