Do you have the passion and resilience to make a real difference in students' lives every day? If so, we’d love to have you on our team!
Our students are truly exceptional – intelligent, articulate, funny, and welcoming. They value the support and care they receive, and they deserve nothing less than the very best. We are committed to ensuring they experience this consistently, in every aspect of school life, every single day.
We are a true comprehensive school which is built on strong family values, where everyone is seen, recognised and valued. This has led to us becoming one of the most successful and oversubscribed schools in the region. To continue to fulfill our ambitions for our students we need outstanding staff who are dedicated, passionate, dynamic, caring and inspiring. We firmly believe we have a world-class staff team, and we're excited to welcome a new Student Welfare Officer to join our dedicated Inclusion Team.
We are looking to appoint a highly motivated, enthusiastic and committed individual to join our team. We believe that every student at Baysgarth School is capable of achieving their very best, regardless of starting point or additional need. This is a great opportunity for someone with the right skills to join the school, providing support for students who need help in overcoming barriers to learning and developing their potential by raising standards of behaviour for learning.
In addition our staff are all expected to have strong inclusive values and play a significant pastoral role, ensuring all our students feel cared for. We pride ourselves on strong relationships with students and the role of the student welfare officer is central to this.
Our student welfare officers are the school’s triage team for any student issues. They provide a listening ear to students when they need it and ensure that our school is calm and purposeful, allowing everyone to learn. The successful applicant must be empathetic and an excellent communicator.
In return, the successful applicant will become part of a school community built on strong family values, where staff are well-supported, well-resourced, and genuinely appreciated. This includes:
- Sensible, manageable workload policies and a recognition of the importance of work-life balance and as such our staff community thrives with excellent staff retention.
- The chance to work in a setting where your impact on young lives is valued – not just in academic success, but in emotional and social wellbeing too.
- A welcoming school where everyone – staff and students alike – is treated with dignity and respect
- A culture where staff wellbeing is a priority, and everyone is encouraged, valued, and backed by leadership
- Outstanding resources and facilities
- Community based school who recognise the important role the school plays in the town
- Strong leadership at all levels which seeks to involve staff in decision making
- Bespoke CPD programme for every member of staff, based on individual needs and aspirations
Baysgarth School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. The successful applicant will be required to apply for enhanced disclosure from the DBS.
If you are inspired by the challenge and responsibility of this opportunity, we would like to hear from you. Further details can be found on our school website. If you would like to discuss any aspect of the post, please feel free to contact donna.hennell@baysgarthschool.co.uk, Inclusion Manager.
