Year 9 student, Polina, received an amazing surprise when her best friend visited Baysgarth today!

Since leaving Ukraine, Polina and Alona haven't seen each other in over a year and they now live in different countries; with Polina in the UK and Alona in Germany.  Despite the distance now between them, the best friends speak on the phone almost every day and are as close as ever. 

Having only discovered Alona was flying to England earlier this week, Polina was utterly thrilled to welcome Alona and could not wait to show her around the school.  Polina introduced Alona to staff and students, whilst also making sure they had enough time to have a well-deserved catch up.

It was so lovely to see the girls together and it was apparent from them both how much they had missed spending time together.  It was amazing to be able to give them this time, which we are sure they both cherished.
