Geography students visited Hornsea to conduct a field investigation...

Exploring the evidence of longshore drift in the area, students conducted a series of data collection techniques.  The geological process that moves sediment along coastlines parallel to the shore can be observed quite clearly in this area, and is why a robust coastal management strategy is in place.  Therefore, offering a a good opportunity for students to carry out real-life investigations, experiment with different techniques and obtain key data.

Students will be assessed on their findings as part of the course, so this was essential research that will contribute to their final grade in the subject.
