We are incredibly proud of Shakira and her hard work and determination...

Our Year 11 student, Shakira Metham, was recently honoured at the 'Kids in Care Awards', where she was celebrated for passing her jet ski practical and theory exams.  With the help and support of her dad, Shakira pursued her dream despite facing challenges and difficulties on the way.

Shakira has been jet skiing for four years after becoming interested in the sport from spending with her father.  Shakira has been practicing for around a year at Tattershall Lakes with her dad on the back, to pass her RYA Personal Watercraft Certificate of Proficiency; a licence that is recognised and can be used all around the world!  Part of the requirements for passing the certification is knowing how to service and maintain a jet ski, which Shakira can now do with ease.

Shakira's dream is to ride a jet ski on the open sea somewhere hot and beautiful - and we know she will do this very soon!

We are very proud of Shakira and are delighted that she has achieved such a fantastic accomplishment!

We wish Shakira nothing but fun and safety on the water.
