Making Headway
It has been a really busy term at Headway...
Over the past few weeks, there has been lots going on Headway. Firstly, we welcomed PC Chris, who delivered an important talk on knife crime and its impact on young people and the wider community. Our students listened attentively, engaged fully with the session, and asked thoughtful questions, showing a real interest in understanding this crucial topic.
This term, we continued our equine therapy intervention, which has been a great success with our students. We were delighted to offer this opportunity to a number of new students, while current participants have enjoyed developing new skills and deepening their connection with the horses. Alongside this, we continue with our weekly land studies groups at Humber Llamas. It is always very difficult to get motivated to work outside in the cold, but students have shown some real resilience and have made the most of their interventions.
We are thrilled to celebrate three students who have achieved 100% positive behaviour since returning to school in September. A huge well done to Max, Riley, and Brandon B for their outstanding effort and commitment. As a reward for their achievements, they will receive a Love2Shop voucher before the Christmas holidays. Keep up the fantastic work!
Finally, we are looking forward to finishing a long term with some fun. On the final day of term, students are heading to Big Fun to enjoy some downtime after their hard work. We will then be finishing the year off with a well earned staff and student Christmas lunch.
