On Tuesday 15th October, Baysgarth hosted a Year 5 Maths Activity Challenge Day, where we welcomed students from a number of local primary schools to take part in a variety of Math quizzes and competitions.

It was amazing to see so many students from the local schools work hard and also have so much fun! The students were fantastic and were very enthusiastic about each challenge and worked as a team brilliantly. There were also some Year 9 volunteer helpers who were amazing with the primary students, and without them the day would not have been anywhere near as successful. They were encouraging and supportive, and also quite competitive at times too!

Highlights of the day include a Maths Murder Mystery, the song challenge, skipping, hopping and boxing mini games, as well as the main rollercoaster structure challenge.

A big thank you to everyone who took part!  After a very exciting day, Team Castledyke were announced as the winners!  Well done to everyone, particularly Daley, Aaron, Kaylum and Miguel who represented Castledyke amazingly!

Look out for more days planned in the future - the next of which is an English Challenge Day later in the term!
