Culture Passport
Tracking enrichment and wider experiences beyond the classroom.
At Baysgarth, we capture and celebrate every student’s enrichment and wider learning experiences beyond the classroom. Through a personalised Culture Passport, each student builds a record of their achievements, opportunities and experiences throughout their time with us, creating a lasting portfolio that showcases their personal development, skills and wider contributions when they leave school.
What do we track?
The Culture Passport tracks students’ participation and achievements across eight key areas of wider experience: enrichment activities, educational trips, motivational and inspirational talks, careers events, work experience, volunteering, representative honours, and opportunities to take on leadership roles.
Together, these experiences provide a comprehensive record of each student’s personal development, skills and achievements beyond the classroom, celebrating the breadth of opportunities they have embraced throughout their time at Baysgarth.
Why do we have a culture passport?
The Culture Passport serves four key purposes:
1. Promoting Equity and Opportunity - We regularly analyse participation data to ensure that all students have equitable access to enrichment and wider experiences. Where gaps exist between disadvantaged and other student groups, we actively work to address these and remove barriers to participation.
2. Encouraging Participation and Engagement - We want every student to embrace the opportunities available beyond the classroom, recognising the valuable learning, personal growth and skills that come from getting involved. We use the data to identify students who may not be engaging and proactively encourage participation through communication with both students and parents.
3. Celebrating Each Student’s Baysgarth Journey - The Culture Passport provides a personalised record of each student’s journey through Baysgarth, capturing their experiences, achievements, memories and contributions throughout their time with us.
4. Developing Employability and Future Readiness - We encourage students to use their Culture Passport to support applications, personal statements and interviews. By reflecting on their experiences, students can identify and evidence key employability skills, helping them articulate their strengths, demonstrate their personal development and stand out in their future education and career pathways.
The Baysgarth Pledge
Our Culture Passport also connects directly to the Baysgarth Pledge: a collection of 16 carefully selected opportunities and experiences that we believe every student should have the chance to enjoy during their time with us. These pledges reflect our commitment to providing a rich, inclusive and memorable school experience, ensuring every student has the opportunity to discover new interests, develop skills and create lasting memories.

Communicating the Culture Passport with Parents
Your child’s Culture Passport and progress will be shared with you at key assessment points throughout the academic year, culminating in an end-of-year report celebrating their wider experiences and achievements.
Students can also work towards tiered Culture Passport Awards by completing the non-compulsory elements of the passport. These recognise students who actively embrace opportunities beyond the classroom, including participating in enrichment clubs, volunteering, representing the school and taking on leadership roles.
