At our school, resilience is more than just a principle, it is one of our core values and a cornerstone of our educational approach. We know that resilience is not an innate trait, but a critical skill that can be taught, nurtured, and developed over time. Recognising a concerning trend in recent Year 7 intakes where lower baseline resilience was creating barriers to students' academic progress and well-being, we launched this curriculum to give our young people the exact tools they need to navigate challenges, overcome setbacks, and fully thrive throughout their secondary school journey and prepare them for future life.

Building on our core value of resilience, our research-driven curriculum is carefully designed to systematically develop all 7 Cs of resilience identified by Dr. Kenneth Ginsburg: Competence, Confidence, Connection, Character, Contribution, Coping and Control. Created to be inclusive, engaging and fun, the program moves beyond teaching theory by actively placing students in safe yet challenging scenarios with a high probability of failure, directly empowering them to navigate adversity and build real-world coping mechanisms through experience. Beginning in Year 7 with physical forms of resilience before progressively advancing to academic resilience in Year 8, we equip our students with the evidence-based mindsets and problem-solving skills needed to succeed both in the classroom and beyond.
