House System
Welcome to the Baysgarth House System
At Baysgarth, our House system is the heartbeat of our school community. Every student is allocated to one of our five Houses as soon as they join us, proudly wearing their House tie as a mark of identity, belonging, and shared ambition. Belonging to a House connects students across all year groups, transforming our large school into a tight-knit family.
Our House system splits the school into five distinct communities, each represented by its own mascot, colours and proud identity. Students remain in the same House throughout their time at Baysgarth, building long-standing relationships with peers and staff alike.
The House system exists to create a deep sense of belonging and pride within Baysgarth. It ensures that every single student feels seen, known and valued. It ensures students are supported by something bigger than their daily timetable. Through our House structure, we foster a healthy spirit of friendly competition, teaching students the value of sportsmanship, collective responsibility and supporting one another through every triumph and challenge.
Belonging to a House opens the door to a wide range of experiences beyond the classroom:
- Weekly Tutor Challenges: Every week, tutor group activities directly feed into the running totals for the coveted House Cup, the ultimate prize awarded at the end of the academic year.
- Competitions & Sports Days: From academic quizzes and creative arts showcases to whole-school sports days, there is a stage for every talent to shine.
- Leadership Roles: Students can step up as House Captains, mentoring younger peers and organizing events.
- Enrichment & Community Action: Houses come together to run charity fundraisers, local community initiatives and collaborative school projects.
